Quincy Adams MBTA station is designed in the Brutalist style, with lots of exposed concrete showing form marks. This stairway shows that it was meant to have an aesthetic to it, rather than a simple utilitarian design. It suffers from neglect and abuse.
Natural features pass under and around man made objects, seemingly without our notice. After 400 years of occupation though, not too many things can be said to be natural anymore. Water will always find it's own way to the sea, no matter how we try to contain it.
I saw a lot of people taking pictures at this year's Chinese New Year in Boston. Lots of cell phones, a few tablets. It's an interesting phenomenon how people always have a way to record the world around them. I wouldn't have thought a few years ago how ubiquitous they'd be in such a short time.
