Cormorant
I went on a photowalk with some members of the Boston contingent of the PDML with a visiting member from NYC.
Cormorants have reached legendary status on the list over the years, and have been adopted as the unofficial mascot of the group.
We were walking around Jamaica Pond when we spied this one. At first it seemed to be a Great Blue Heron, it revealed it's true identity as we got closer.
This is my first cormorant sighting.

Strobist Bootcamp 3, Assignment 1
David Hobby is running his third Bootcamp series of assignments for off-camera flash. This assignment is focused more on choosing a person involved with the community, and giving something back.

WaterFire Providence
On Saturday, I went to Providence to see WaterFire. It's not really what I was expecting. I had thoughts of jets of fire and water dancing around to music. What is actually is, is 100 braziers set in the river running through downtown Providence. It's very ceremonial and ritualistic with music playing the whole time.

The Flash Bus
I attended a seminar on off-camera flash last weekend. It was put on by David Hobby and Joe McNally.
I was able to get on-stage for a demonstration of lighting groups with a single flash bounced off a white wall. Joe had us scream at the count of 3, and this is what came out:
The tour is over now, and it was a great time.
