The South Shore Plaza had a 5K Color Run on Sunday. Runners were covered in colored cornstarch during the race and at the end, groups threw color up in the air all at the same time.

Discarded TV

I came across this broken TV while looking for other things. The screen has been smashed, and you can see some of the internals. It's interesting to see how thick the glass of a TV (called the envelope) is, and why CRT TVs are so heavy. That thick glass is along the entire tube. It's really not surprising why LCDs and Plasmas have taken their place just in terms of having to move them.

I went out to take pictures of local headstones for www.findagrave.com the other day. I only found a few of the many requests, but I did get some nice pictures anyway.

I took a couple of test shots with off-camera flash. It's going to take some work to find what works best with flash outdoors for me. I'm not a huge fan of the heavily vignetted look, but I can see why it works to separate the subject from the background.

I got my wireless flash trigger on Saturday, so I went back to the abandoned factory to try out some off camera flash shots.

I visited an abandoned factory last week. This was my first time in the building and was a quick exploration. The building is big and sprawling, and is in pretty good shape for as long as it has been empty.
