This sculpture is made of ivory, and embellished with gold. This one burned at some time in the past and is now blackened and seriously decayed.

Crossing the Gulf of Corinth, this bridge allows traffic to cross much more reliably than when only the ferries ran.

Corinth Canal

This canal was dug to allow ships to save time coming from the Gulf of Corinth to the Aegean Sea.

60 meters to the water, 25 meters wide at the base, and 8 meters deep.

It is now mainly used for small cargo ships and small cruise ships as newer ships can afford to just go around.

This outdoor cafe is situated on a hillside street in the Plaka in Athens. It has a wonderful view of the Acropolis and the Erechtheion behind me.
